I admit it. This blog is NOT consistent. What it is keeps changing. Right now, it's pretty much a place where I keep photos, videos, and links to websites that interest me. Before that, I wrote a few blogs myself and still do once in a blue moon. But most of the stuff before the links are just reprints of articles I found interesting. ENTERTAINMENT: Notes On Stalking My Ex-Boyfriend’s Last.fm Account
This is all my way of saying that, in the wake of the relationship’s ending, rather than torturing myself by constantly reminding myself of all the social events my ex was attending without me and apparently enjoying all the more for my absence, I devised a far more effective way to torture myself with obsessive remembrance, painful emotions, and false hope: lurking my ex’s Last.fm page.

ENTERTAINMENT: Archie Broke My Heart! Now What?
August 19, 2009Dear Amy:
I have been going out with my high school boyfriend, "Archie," for 67 years, though honestly it feels like longer.
We've had our ups and downs like any other couple, but for the most part we get along great.
Sure, he has commitment issues, but that's normal, right?
Unfortunately, it seems that whenever Archie and I get in a little tiff, "Veronica," my worst frenemy, sweeps in. She's, like, really manipulative. But what can I say — she's rich and stuck-up, and really knows how to work her curves. Plus, she drives a roadster.
Yesterday, I found out that Archie is planning to marry Veronica! I don't know how many times he has hinted that he and I would live happily ever after, but when I think about it, he never actually said the words. It was always implied, though.
I'm heartbroken. I'm mad, too.
The worst part is that they've asked me to go to the wedding! Veronica is even hinting that she wants me to be a bridesmaid! Can you imagine?
Of course, I'll probably do it because that's just the sort of person I am. But it's hard to imagine picking up the pieces after dating the same guy for three generations.
Amy, what am I supposed to do now?
Betty
Dear Betty:
Here's what you should do.
Pour yourself into a red dress — the one with the big white polka dots on it. Take your hair down for once, OK? You're a natural blonde, Betty — don't be afraid to work it! Don't wear your neck scarf; a simple strand of pearls would be nice.
I want you to hold your head up high, go to that wedding and tell yourself that you are better off without him.
At the wedding reception (I'm sure it will be held at the Riverdale Country Club), if you have a few too many appletinis and decide to tell off Veronica once and for all, and maybe dance a little too close with Reggie or Jughead, so be it! You're a free woman, Betty, and now's your chance to stand up for all the Bettys everywhere!
I have a really good feeling about you, Betty. I know there are many adventures in store for you. Have you thought about getting a job in the city?
You probably haven't heard the last of Archie. No doubt he'll come crawling back to you, just like he always does — and this will probably happen sooner than you think.
The real question you need to ask yourself is — what will you do then?

CULTURE/SOCIETY: Your Life As A Mash Up
I got this game from Juice_Brianne at the weekly supplement to our newspaper.
Juice_Brianne's boyfriend ended up living in a shack with Queen Elizabeth II and a French Bulldog and driving a Pinto.
Me? You will marry Sigourney Weaver. After a wild honeymoon, you will settle down in New Orleans in your fabulous apartment. You will have 9999999999999999999999999999999 kids. The family will zoom around in an army green new car. You will spend your days as a star ship captain, and live happily ever after.
My daughter? You will marry (classmate name deleted). After a wild honeymoon, you will settle down in Second Life in your fabulous apartment. You will have 5 kids together. The family will zoom around in a blue Ferrari. You will spend your days as a Bob the Builder, and live happily ever after.
And the second time for me - You will marry Kim Basinger. - Thank the god! I put Bea Arthur as one of my choices! - After a wild honeymoon, you will settle down in Kalahari Desert in your fabulous apartment. You will have 2 kids together. The family will zoom around in a olive death trap. You will spend your days as a superhero, and live happily ever after.
Try your luck and let me know how it turns out. But take a chance and put 2 bad choices and 3 good ones!

CULTURE/SOCIETY: A Couple Of Embarassing Man Moments
"I called my girlfriend's house one day and said something dirty when she picked up. 'Excuse me?' asked the voice at the other end. 'Baby, you know what I'm talking about," I said. 'You must think this is my daughter,' replied her mom. I started apologizing like crazy. When my girlfriend got on the line, she set me straight: 'Let it go. It's cool. I'm grown.' Seems like I was the only one flustered."
"I used to hoard condoms from campus safe-sex events. Once, I had a date right after one. My phone rang while we were together, and when I pulled it out of my pocket, a condom slipped out. Then I reached into my bag for something and three more fell out. And my pockets were crinkling like crazy from all the other ones I'd stuff in them. I looked like a condom pinata. Finally, I knew I had to explain that I'm too cheap to buy my own. Thankfully, she laughed."

CULTURE/SOCIETY: My New "Tweets" from Twitter and More Excuses For Not Blogging

CULTURE/SOCIETY: Honey, I'm Home
Stevie's Home! (A Valentine's Love Tip)

A long time ago when my wife was my girlfriend and we were LIVING IN SIN, a tradition was born. I'd like to now share it with you all.
I came home from work one day and found her in front of the computer. I said "Hello," and she barely grunted back. I don't even think she looked up.
Half-jokingly I responded, "Okay, we're gonna try this again." I walked out the front door and came back in a few moments later...
"STEVIE'S HOME, STEVIE'S HOME!!! YAY!!!" was the new over-the-top cheer I was greeted with. It was accompanied by a hug and kisses. And I loved it.
What began as a joke quickly became an ongoing practice that continues to this day in our house: The person who is home first must make a small fuss when the other person gets there.
Does it sound silly? Yes. Do I promise that it will set the tone for a nicer evening just about every time you do it? Yes.
The world is full of douchebags, guys. Take 3 seconds out of your precious day to make a fuss over each other. Do it like you mean it. Do it as a goof. Just do it a lot. I promise you'll be glad you did.

HUMOR and CULTURE/SOCIETY: Suck It Up and Fill Your Tank
QUESTION: Recently my girlfriend of two years has been talking on the phone late at night, going out more and acting strange. I started to suspect that maybe she's cheating on me. A few nights ago, she said she was going out. I know this sounds bad, but I decided to follow her. Sure enough, she met with a guy I had never seen at a nice restaurant. It looked intimate to me. When they left, I was going to follow them further, but ran out of gas. I think they probably went back to his place or to a hotel. I guess what I was wondering was, do you ever think the price of gas is going to go down?
SARAH: Oftentimes, back in my stalking days, I would lament the price of gas and my tendency to procrastinate filling my tank when it got down there. The dinging noise was really annoying. Since then, I've decided to accept that gas is expensive and just fill the tank when I need it. It is a pride-swallowing siege but now I'm able to stalk more efficiently. On another note, you should dump your girlfriend as she is cheating on you with somebody who willingly spends his money on gas, nice dinners and hotel rooms.
